She Likes To Dance

First the facts: Astaire and Elvis had it then and Justin and Ricky have it now. And that particular "it"—the ability to dance and dance well—drives millions and millions of women absolutely crazy. But the question remains, do you have it?

It has been long known that one of the easiest and most accurate indicators of how a potential partner is going to perform in the sack is how they move when the lights go down and the music goes up and step out on a dance floor. Are they sexy and uninhibited or will I be bored? seems to be the subtext being answered with every dance step.

The dead starfish goes both ways. Elvis had those hypnotizing hips and women all over the planet lost their collective minds imagining how it would feel to have those devil hips grinding away. Untold millions of fathers across America lost so much sleep during The King's reign that it's amazing that the country's productivity didn't stop altogether.

Justin Timberlake just looks like he's having so much damn fun on stage or in his videos that women are drawn to him almost magnetically the instant his writhing and shaking image appears. Women just want to be a part of that fun and soak in his infectious, playful energy. They want to be the reason he's dancing. The want him to dance with them and to feel all that energy up against and fusing and feeding their bodies. Now women may not want to admit it, perhaps, but it's true. Girls like to dance with boys who know how to dance. There's a certain logic to that.

Now what to do if you're like Brandon Walsh from the original 90210 and you just don't dance? It's just not your thing? I'm sorry to say, you're going to miss out. Not only on a really good time by letting loose but also on possibly hypnotizing the woman of your dreams into being your horizontal dance partner until the sun rises and beyond.

You don't know how to dance? Haven't got any sweet moves of your own? And no, the running man from ninth grade doesn't count as sweet moves. No sweat. There are a few avenues you can take and they all lead to the same location: your living room. America's Best Dance Crew, So You Think You Can Dance? and Dancing With The Stars all grant you immediate access to some of the world's top choreographers and professional and amateur dancers. Set up your DVR to record a few episodes, close your curtains to spare the neighbors, lock the front door and let yourself go! See what feels natural to you and have fun with it! Because that's essentially what it is that attracts women to guys, right? The guy who's just being natural, truly himself, and, most importantly, having fun.

There's a great scene in the classic movie Can't Buy Me Love—starring Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey before he became McDreamy—where he learns an African chant/dance to impress the girl. Things turned out pretty well for Dempsey, right? Go out there, men, move and have some a hell of a good time. Things will turn out just as well for you—promise.
